Melissa Peterson

Melissa Peterson is best known as the owner of the US Hemp Growers Conferences & Expos. She also owns and moderates the In the Weeds Live podcast as well as a few other projects within the hemp industry.

With 15 years experience in the specialty crop industry, she has worked with universities and Departments of Agriculture throughout the United States to help educate farmers, businesses, financial institutions, and government officials. Bringing her skill set into the hemp industry has been one of her greatest joys. She loves to open the minds of people and help them understand how many different products can be built or formulated using hemp.

Melissa currently sits on the board of Women in Hemp and the Marketing & Fundraising Steering Committee of the Hemp Feed Coalition. During what little spare time she has left, Melissa loves to cook, garden, golf, and spend time with family.

Her favorite saying is “Knowledge is knowing what to say, wisdom is knowing whether to say it or not.” She has not mastered this yet, but it’s something to aspire to.
