Margaret MacKenzie
Margaret planted hemp on the family ranch in 2015 and became one of the first growers in the Western Slope region of Colorado. Launching two retail product lines, Salt Creek Hemp and Eleven Acres, Margaret uses regenerative farming practices to grow potent, pure hemp. In 2017, Margaret was the annual featured farmer of the Hemp History Week campaign coordinated by the Hemp Industries Association.
Margaret is engaged in the technical and professional advancement of the hemp industry and has been invited to contribute to educational events and policy reviews in the U.S. and the Caribbean. She is a board member and steering committee member of the Hemp Feed Coalition, board member of the Colorado Hemp Industries Association, and also a steering committee member of the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s CHAMP Initiative.
Her greatest passion is helping small, independent farmers become hemp growers, empowering the farm economy while also creating all-natural beneficial hemp products.
